Abhigyan Club is the Hindi Literary Club of La Martiniere for
Girls. Members converse in Hindi and take part in activities like
elocution, debate and drama. The club's main goal is to instill in
every girl a pride for their national language - Hindi. An
inspirational drama is enacted and patriotic songs are sung by the
members on Republic Day as well as on Independence Day.

Computer Club of La Martiniere for Girls aims to promote scientific
and today's age of instant communication. Computers have become an
integral part of our life.
Hence, it is absolutely essential that all the students should be
well-versed in the various computer languages and applications. This
is the purpose of the Computer Club of La Martiniere for Girls. To
create interest in computer-related activities is what the club
intends to achieve. The club publishes a newsletter each year and
conducts workshops for its members to enhance their technical
skills. In collaboration with Nature Club, the Computer Club has
also worked on the TRIP (Traffic Reduction Project).

Easel Club of La Martiniere for Girls
is a club full of fun, frolic and creativity. The members come up
with the best artistic work with even scraps of paper. The club
believes that creativity and imagination goes a long way in building
a persons' character and aims to put a splash of colour in the lives
of each and every one of its members. It organizes the Annual Art
and Craft Exhibition which is spread over two days. The entire
year's art and craft exhibits from each class are displayed. The
club believes in the magic that can be whipped up with simply a
paint brush.

The Quiz Club of La Martiniere for Girls is a closely-knit group if
girls from class VI to XII who believe 'cerebral' can be fun and
'educational' is interesting. It encourages its members to make
audio-visual presentations and invites experienced quizzers to
interact with the members. Members of the club believe that quizzing
isn't about the 'mugging up of quiz books' or memorizing random
facts. If one enjoys reading, sports, music, world cinema, theater,
politics, economics or has a general awareness about the world, one
is, in every way a quizzer. The club is not reserved for the
academically proficient - it is a place for encouraging vibrant,
curious young girls to closely analyze, learn and discuss the world
around them, with all its mysteries and revelations.

Drishti is the cultural club of La Martiniere for Girls. Over the last ten
years, the club has undertaken projects that impart cultural knowledge through
events such as pottery and block printing workshops and Indian dance and music
programmes. The club hopes to promote awareness, interest and pride in the rich
Indian cultural heritage among all its members. The two main events are Drishti
Utsav, which is an intra-school competition and Drishtikon, which is an
inter-school fest.

The Safety Patrol of La Martiniere for Girls is a group of girls that, as the
name suggests, looks after the safety of the students and the teachers of the
school. The girls help the traffic police to manage the traffic before school
starts and hence, help with the civic service. The girls also make sure that
parents' dropping off their children in school is a hassle-free affair.

The school band of La Martiniere for Girls is the
pride of the school. It only consists of boarders. They are seen in
full force on the day of the Annual Athletics Meet when they also
put up a display.

The meetings are held every Tuesday in
the Audio Visual Room. It is conducted by some volunteers from the
Assembly of God Church. The members of the club mostly consist of
the Christian boarders. Meetings are fun-filled and even though, it
is the end of the day; members are filled with enthusiasm to
participate in the activities of the meeting. Members sing songs,
play games, listen to stories relating to their daily lives and
experiencing the love of God in their lives.

Science Club of La Martiniere for Girls aims to promote scientific awareness
among the students and helps them develop an interest in science. Its objective
is to show that science is prevalent in all aspects of our life and it is not
confined to textbooks. The club organizes a Science Exhibition each year in
which all members participate and members are also taken frequently on field
trips.

The Nature Club of La Martiniere for
Girls strives to protect and preserve nature is and around the
school campus, promote awareness and generate interest in
conservation of nature in general. The club is associated with NGOs
such as Mother's Heart, PUBLIC, Greenpeace and WWF. The members take
part in activities aimed at curbing noise pollution around the
school premises, ensuring that the campus is a plastic-free zone,
clean up drives in several parts of the city and excursions to the
wetlands.

The photography club of La Martiniere
for Girls, Kaleidoscope not only teaches its members new techniques
of photography but also widens their perspective with the help of
daily projects and presentations. The club has conducted several
photography workshops and excursions. Members of this club believe
that do capture a perfect moment is an inspiration on film.

The oldest club of La Martiniere for
Girls, Interact Club is affiliated to the Rotary International
District, 3291. It is the social service arm of La Martiniere and
upholds the motto - "Service before self". The club aims to give all
Martinians and opportunity to make a difference to society by
serving the people around them. The club organizes five weekly
projects - Health Clinic, The Manovikas Rehabilitation and Research
Center, The Little Sisters of the Poor, EK Prayas and the Child in
Need Asha Project. In addition, several annual, bi-annual and
monthly projects are conducted. Members believe in using the special
opportunities and privileges given to them to touch the lives of
others.

"Be prepared" is the motto and the Guides have always been prepared for any
event that comes their way, be it Republic Day, Independence Day, Prize Day or
Sports Day. Guides have regular camps and competitions and they have always
attempted to excel at whatever they do.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme (now known as International Award for Young
People) or DEAS as it is popularly known has been functioning in La Martiniere
for Girls for years. It is open for students between classes VIII and XII. DEAS
aims at helping the involved individual develop into a well-rounded person in
every sphere of life. The treks are definitely the highlights of the award
scheme as this is one segment where all the students as a team face the various
experience. Other than the treks (Expedition / Exploration), the award also
comprises of Skill, Physical Recreation and Social Service. The award is divided
into 3 levels; Bronze, Silver and Gold. As one level is completed, another level
begins and though the magnitude of the work increases manifold, the fun and the
spirit always exceeds it.
